The Multistate Trust’s Reuse Advisory Council to Begin Meeting in March 2022
The Multistate Trust’s newly formed Reuse Advisory Council (RAC) will hold its first meeting on March 1, 2022. The RAC is made up of Navassa residents, stakeholders, and local government representatives, including Mr. Chris Graham, Mr. Marcell Hatten, Councilmember Jerry Merrick, Ms. Myesha Patrick, Ms. Jamie Stokley, and Mayor Eulis Willis.
Over the next several months, the RAC will meet monthly to discuss the four redevelopment concepts created during the Redevelopment Planning Initiative (RPI) and recommend ways to incorporate residential uses that are supported by the Town of Navassa and the community. In the future, the RAC will also evaluate and provide input on plans submitted by those interested in redeveloping the portion of the Multistate Trust-owned property that is ready for reuse. The Multistate Trust’s third-party planner, Benchmark Planning, which provided key assistance throughout the RPI, will support the RAC as it develops recommendations.
The first RAC meeting will be a small-group session closed to the public. However, the Multistate Trust expects the RAC will share its findings and recommendations at upcoming community meetings. If you wish to observe or participate in future RAC meetings, or have other questions, please contact Claire Woods of the Multistate Trust at cw@g-etg.com or (910) 765-7237.
